Our Story

AlertGursha was born from a simple yet powerful act of compassion: a dinner for NTD patients at Alert Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Founded by Dr. Tsion Tesfa, our organization recognizes that “Gursha” - an Amharic word meaning the act of feeding someone with your own hand - represents the deep care and community connection at the heart of our mission.

What started as a single dinner has grown into a movement dedicated to raising awareness about Neglected Tropical Diseases and building communities that support, educate, and empower those affected.

Building Hope, One Community at a Time

Through our community dinners and support programs, we've created a network of care and understanding.
